Constitution HS P.O.G. 2.0
Does our Constitution effectively resolve conflict?
Our Constitution helps the United States gain order, and restrict the government, and citizens to their limits. The constitution rationally resolves conflict for these reasons, which include citizen’s rights, and protects our society by balancing government’s need to resolve conflict. That brings me to express these topics, which addresses examples from the ideal society, Protection of legal documents, Impeachment, and protest against the government violently.
First, the protection of legal document, or the belonging to the government helps restrict the citizens or other government associates from destroying, stealing, etc. with papers, or files belonging to the government. Article 4 Section 3 states that, the congress shall have power to dispose of, and make all needs to represent property belonging to the United States. The article that states this, was violated in the ideal society, when citizen Brianna Byrd, whom reportedly stole the document, ripped it, and destroyed the document in from of the press. She was sent to prison, and conflict was resolved by the secret services putting her in prison. Still, Governor Ayanna sued Brianna Byrd for destroying something that belonged to the United States. I believe that Brianna Byrd deserved a fair trial like any other citizen, or judge.
Second, there were emotions from the president flying everywhere when the Government was trying to impeach the president out of office, because she allegedly said that whoever opposed to speaking negatively, and protesting violently about the I-chip will be arrested, and she supposedly violated the constitution by stating their rights of free speech. They were also trying to impeach her because she was for the I-chip, when everyone was against it. The Senate violated the constitution; they also intruded the president’s right as a citizen, and a part of the government, by appointing false information to the press, about comments that were not stated. President Thompson called a press conference stating that,” I have committed no action that has been unconstitutional” The senate had hit a low standard trying to impeach the president… on what charges? That statement just added more conflict, and problems between the officers in the government. No court case was called to testify, and no evidence was found to support the senate’s proposition.
Also, there were many engagements, when the President arrested everyone, whom protested violently to counter her outlook regarding the I-chip. The President was backing-up the I-Chip, and the country was opposing her. When she called a press conference, she addressed the whole situation, which led to numerous violent events. These comments led to a riot, which resulted in terrorist acts, The Yankees Stadium, Disney World, The National Constitution Center. This leads me perfectly with my next argument and that is Terrorism.
Next, Terrorism, for example the Freedom Fight Club, basically disagreed with the president’s perspective of the I-chip, but it was hers to defend. She was openly protecting the I-chip, and trying to persuade the nation’s emphasis on the product. The freedom fight club, attacked numerous places, and wanted mayhem to occur, and I believed that Tyler Durdan, who has a split personality, who looks like Brad Pitt, is leading the pack.
Finally, President Truman’s era was an utterly outspoken conflict with himself, and the government, while he tried to overrun everyone. He ordered a so-called war that wasn’t authorized by the congress, so they called it a conflict. He did many great things, but that decision, caused him to lose a lot of American respect. Another thing that caused him to lose power was when he tried to override the steel mills, and take full control, so the steel mill workers to go on strike (boycott their job, for an certain amount of time). That caused much conflict with him, and the CEO of the steel mills defended them. It became notices as the Youngstown Steel & Tube co. vs. Sawyer 53 – US. The strike lasted 53, and the steel worker won, and an increase in their wages.
Although, these events occurred in the ideal society I respect everyone’s effort they have contributed during this simulation. Theses events that occurred really have an effect, and it shows how everyone reacts to a conflict of any sort. Impeachment, Protesting against the government violently, President Truman, Terrorism all can effect our nation deeply, but the government tried to prevent it from happening, numerous times. So, the Constitution effectively resolves conflict? The answer is yes.
