Of Mice And Men Review.

Of Mice and Men is an outstanding, and well-written novel. I highly recommend it. The book has many ways I would highlight it to my liking, but I love the book due to the characters, their roles, the plot, and the meaning of the book, and the lessons it teaches the readers. Of mice and men is a compelling story which two men, one of great size, and the other smart, and quick, form a bond a bond as they travel together and pursue a dream of theirs.

First, the characters in the book make up a great novel also fit into the storyline, and plot well. Some characters represent different, all-around symbols, whether they are abstract on concrete. For example, I can label Curly’s wife as Eve in the Garden of Eden, because Lenny represents Adam, whom is attracted to the sin of touching, and conversing, with Curly’s wife. When Adam defines God, and bite into the apple, is similar to when Lenny touches, and caresses Curly’s wife’s hair. He defines George’s rule, as Adam disobeyed God. His move caused a major mishap that would affect everyone.

Second, the plot of the story Of Mice and Men is great, and exactly the type of book I would enjoy reading, and would love for it to continue into a movie. The plot involved arguments, violence, and even gun. It was just a great novel, overall, which will be discussed, in the next paragraph. Reason for myself favoring the plot due to the realist values such as the mental disability of Lenny, and the coward ness of Curly. Every other book doesn’t include any character that has a mental disability that you will come to like, but this disable character fits into the story, and completes the story. Finally, another reason I like the plot, because it involve everyday issue that are still dealt with today, such as the jealousy Curly has towards his wife’s social encounters with the other men in the book.

Finally, the meaning, and the overall purpose can be interpreted into many meanings. Religion is one of the main topics in which this book can be translated, and compared to. There are many symbols in this book that can relate to religion. For example, the spot where Lenny goes after he commits the crime, that spot can be compared to a confessional, or the place where the 12 disciples hid, where they had the last supper, until Jesus Christ returned to them. This can be as reason, but as a personal opinion, and a theory, I stand behind it, not intended to commit controversy.

In conclusion, this book was a great novel overall. I feel as though this book displays great meaning, and value within the pages. Again, I recommend the book, and also the movie, which was made. I prefer the latest addition, but both are good to view just to have said” I’ve seen” category, but hats off to John Steinbeck
